INTRODUCTION:
The employee is directly responsible to the Program Director for carry out the assigned functions of the program. The employee works mainly indoors, in either the field, office or courtroom environment. The employee will work out of an assigned work station within a Judicial District, but may include several adjoining county sites. The employee must be capable of using a computer, fax machine, copier, cellular phone, and other office equipment. The employee may be exposed to dirt, dust, tobacco smoke and foul odors during the work day
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Perform Alcohol / Drug assessments on clients supervised by the Community Corrections Program Conduct Risk / Needs Assessments for all clients supervised by Community Corrections Facilitate group sessions for clients in multiple locations as needed Work with treatment providers for client assessment and intake Assist Case Officers with clients referrals to treatment services Coordinate with Case Officers in developing Case Management of clients as indicated Adheres to professional ethics and standards, demonstrating work habits, which comply with Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling and/or related field (required) Three to five years’ experience with assigned population (required) Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) certification (preferred) Master degree (preferred) Valid Tennessee Driver’s License and Automobile Liability Insurance
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision and case management in community corrections. Ability to effectively communicate with participants. Ability to train new case officers, as needed. Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment. Knowledge of business English and basic mathematics. Ability to fill out forms and reports in a timely fashion. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work independently. Ability to maintain an effective working relationship with the public and other employees. Ability to communicate with persons of any economic level regardless of race, color, creed, religion or national origin. Ability to travel. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; stoop; bend; walk; talk; hear; use hands to grip; reach with hands and arms, occasionally required to stand or walk on uneven surfaces; climb stairs and lift up to 50lbs daily.
