REDUCTION SPECIALIST – PLEASURE PAK PROGRAM ABOUT SISTERREACH

SisterReach, founded in October 2011, is a Memphis, TN-based grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting the reproductive autonomy of Black women, women and girls of color, poor and rural women, LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive people, and their families through the framework of Reproductive and Sexual Justice. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Harm Reduction Specialist- Pleasure Pak Program is a critical member of the Harm Reduction Department, specializing in community engagement, education, and direct services through SisterReach’s harm reduction initiatives, including HIV testing, Pleasure Pak coordination and distribution, HIV, PrEP-PEP-DoxyPEP education and dissemination, and the CareOnHand program. Reporting to the Director of Harm Reduction, the Harm Reduction Specialist- Pleasure Pak collaborates closely with the Director of Education, Sexual Health Educators, Harm Reduction Specialist -HIV/PREP-PEP-DOXYPEP/SSP, Pearl’s Pantry Support Assistants, Pearl’s Pantry Mobile Program Coordinator, and Mobile Drivers to deliver comprehensive, culturally responsive services. The ideal candidate combines programmatic expertise, community outreach skills, and a deep understanding of harm reduction principles. This position requires cultural humility, compassion, and a commitment to equity as it supports individuals living with HIV and those navigating substance use disorders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Programmatic and Community Engagement Leads Unhoused Client Outreach program, including preparing and delivering meals, Pleasure Paks and CareOnHand Kits, pantry items, and hygiene bags. Builds and sustains partnerships with community and state organizations to align resources and expand program reach. Collaborate with harm reduction team, volunteers and interns to support harm reduction programs. Leads and participates in tabling and outreach efforts to engage community members and promote harm reduction services. Identifies and manages relationships with community stakeholders for Pleasure Pak drop-offs. Harm Reduction Activities Coordinates Pleasure Pak distribution, including processing requests, preparing kits, and managing mail or in-person distribution. Monitors and reports Pleasure Pak items, emergency contraception, pregnancy tests, and other sexual health items. Provides logistical and on-site support for health fairs, tabling events, and outreach activities. Pearl’s Pantry Mobile Outreach Assists with Pearl’s Pantry and Pearl’s Pantry Mobile programming, including seasonal inventory rotation, in-person and virtual grocery shopping, and other related tasks. Supports mobile outreach efforts, including client order processing, voter registration, HIV testing, syringe service and other harm reduction kit distribution and exchange, and tabling activities. HIV Testing and Care Connection Provides education, resources, and care connection for individuals seeking HIV testing, PrEP, PEP, DoxyPEP, CareOnHand services and Pleasure Pak kits. Provides free in-office and outreach-based testing for HIV. Connects clients to appropriate care if they test positive for HIV. Training and Certification Maintains certifications in HIV testing, care connection, and harm reduction strategies for people who use drugs (PWUD). Delivers services rooted in equity, respect, and cultural competency. Representation and Advocacy Represents SisterReach at meetings, panels, webinars, and conferences, advocating for harm reduction policies and practices. Works with the Marketing and Communications Department to create educational materials and messaging targeting PWUD and individuals living with HIV. Administrative Support Develops and submits detailed weekly and quarterly work plans, including narratives summarizing activities, outcomes, and priorities. Actively participates in individual and group check-ins, organizational staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. Documents activities, maintains accurate records, and submits timely reports to support grant compliance and program evaluation. Collaboration and Capacity Building Supports the Program Coordinator – Pearl’s Pantry, Mobile Drivers, and other team members to expand departmental capacity and deliver high-quality services. Collaborates with the Director of Harm Reduction to identify program improvement opportunities and innovative strategies.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong time and task management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, web-based email platforms, and Google Calendar. Lived experience with an HIV diagnosis or substance use disorder, or expert-level understanding of these topics is a plus! Cultural humility and the ability to serve diverse populations with equity, respect, and compassion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and facilitation. Ability to lead support groups with sensitivity and confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS

Certification in HIV testing, care connection, harm reduction strategies, and services for PWUD. (Training provided) Certification in Harm Reduction and SSP programming (training provided) Minimum of 3 years of experience in harm reduction, public health, or related fields. Familiarity with harm reduction programming, including syringe services programs (SSP) and HIV prevention. Knowledge of reproductive and sexual justice or social justice work is desirable. Experience working with community and state partners is preferred. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary Range:

$45,000 – $55,000 annually, based on experience (lived and/or professional), qualifications, and organizational budget.
