Extension and Outreach Description Position Summary:
The Project Coordinator will be key personnel on the ADPH grant and work directly with the PI(s) to organize and complete the necessary outreach opportunities to the community. The Project Coordinator will aid in maintaining records, completing progress updates/reports, and data analysis throughout the project. This position requires strong writing, data analysis, program budgeting and project management skills. Coordinates administrative, personnel and logistical support for ongoing department project(s) or major sub-component(s). May provide specific technical support in area of expertise. Carries out established project objectives and directives. Work often consists of handling varied technical and/or administrative tasks. Determines best approach to accomplish tasks but unusual problems are reviewed with Project Manager, Project Director or other superior. Key Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate with local school leaders to establish schedule for ADPH prepared presentations
Collaborate with school leaders to obtain current tobacco policies in the target area.
Maintain presentations and educational tools for use with community and school audiences
Give presentations at local schools to area youth on the risk of tobacco use and key strategies to reduce use
Work with the Tobacco Free Task Force at COA to participate in local anti-tobacco/smoke-free community events (Great American Smoke Out, Take Down Tobacco, Children’s of Alabama Vape Free AL, etc)
Facilitate youth training meetings for peer-to-peer education
Maintain social media presence relate to tobacco and vape-free content as required by grant.
Drafting compelling progress reports and targeted program updates to funders that fully capture programmatic successes.
Maintaining master calendar of grant events and associated files of correspondence.
Perform other duties as assigned
Salary Range:
$20.80 – $24.00 Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
