Leidos is seeking a talented Project Manager to support a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. With offices across the United States engaging in the defense, space, cyber and commercial fields, Leidos provides responsive, cost-effective engineering, scientific and IT solutions. The Project Manager will be part of a diverse team focused on providing Program Management Support for our Fuzing Systems in the Defense Sector. Candidate will be required to support multiple tasks in parallel, contribute to and lead team environments, and communicate effectively to management, employees, coworkers, and customers. The individual must also be self-motivated and highly organized with a focus on managing customer expectations with a constant goal of generating high quality products that exceed customer expectations. Primary Responsibilities The Project Manager will have a key impact on program execution and will assist the Program Manager with: Evaluate and guide daily execution activities in support of the program manager Support IPT meetings and set expectations for project team Routinely evaluate program technical and programmatic metrics to ensure successful execution Manage risk and identify opportunities at the IPT level including working with the IPT to develop mitigation strategies and plans to realize opportunities Identify capability or process gaps and provide recommendations for improvement Coordinate program activities across multiple functional activities Foster intra-project coordination and communication Aid Program Manager in mitigating cost, schedule, and technical risks related to materials used on the program Plan and execute hardware centric projects Define tasks and required resources Work with the Manufacturing Program Management team to develop and maintain project schedule priorities Oversight of the technical scope under the assigned control accounts Routinely interface / present to Customers, Senior Leadership, and Suppliers Basic Qualifications Typically requires a BA degree and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience. Proposal experience using Basis of Estimates (BOE) Proven experience managing and meeting tight schedules Effective communication of information between various functional disciplines as well as strong briefing skills with senior customer and corporate Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint Understanding of hardware development, manufacturing, procurement, production, and integration Proven leadership skills including working in a team environment, fostering communication, listening to teammate concerns and reconciling internal issues or differences Proven ability to solicit and process complex information and data to solve complex problems and make sound decisions Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability Experience with supply chain management and ability to work with suppliers to help them meet both hardware and non-hardware deliverable requirements Must be a US Citizen possess and have the ability to maintain an active secret clearance. Must be a resident of Huntsville, Alabama or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, Alabama area. Preferred Qualifications Project management certification (CAPM or PMP) or equivalent Experience supporting development/production program Fuzing Systems experience Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing experience
