Project Manager (HVAC) Position Available In Mobile, Alabama

Job Description:

The Project Manager will manage the human, financial andoperational resources necessary to meet contractual and companyrelated obligations of the project to ensure profitability. TheProject Manager will provide day-to-day leadership for the membersassigned to the team and ensures ongoing communications with thecustomer. He will actively participate in the execution of theproject and interact with the project team and the client to ensureopen communications. The incumbent will monitor quality of thesystem solution as well as the timelines and costs to ensurecontractual obligations are respected.

Project Management andDirection:

Manage installation projects ensuring goals, timelines,resources, material and budget are aligned. Develop appropriateHVAC designs for the different spaces onboard ships including allsupporting calculations. Select appropriate system components basedon the design and calculations. Prepare professional drawingpackages (single lines, double lines, installation, and equipmentdrawings). Resolves installation issues in a timely manner, ensuresthat change and requirements are understood, documented,communicated, costed and applied. Responsible for the quality ofdeliverables and installations. Monitor progress, earned value,deliverables and acceptance plans against plans and mitigate issueswhen they arise. Monitor time & technical activities of projectsand ensure that deliverables meet contract requirements ensuringcustomer acceptance is achieved. Coordinates supplier’sdeliverables with project timelines and ensure quality. Coordinatewith Product Engineers and Packaging teams to ensure theirdeliverables are aligned with the project requirements (designrequirements and timelines & budget). Lead and support InstallationManagers located in different yards and provide assistance inovercoming technical, supply chain and client issues.

CustomerManagement:

Acts as the primary point of contact with the customer.

Maintains communications with customer on project progress, issuesand risks at all levels of the organization. Manages scope andchange requests in a proactive manner. Monitors customersatisfaction and address concerns.

Contract Management:

Monitorcontract delivery (i.e., specifications, costs and customersatisfaction) May assist in the development and negotiation ofcontractual agreements and/or change requests

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. More than 8 years ofexperience in HVAC system engineering design or experienceoperating/maintaining HVAC systems Relevant experience inengineering-related firm (an asset). Experience in project managingShip Installations/Refurbishment; good working knowledge of PMsoftware Good knowledge of project finance and cost control PMPcertification (an asset) Excellent communication skills, both oraland written with strong relational skills (English) Excellentorganization skills and capacity to juggle multiple tasks andresources Excellent business acumen for long term development ishighly desirable
