Project Controls Manager – Field Position Summary The Project Controls Manager is responsible for leading all project control activities—including planning, scheduling, cost control, change management, risk management, and reporting—for the assigned EPC project across engineering, procurement, and construction phases. This role ensures project execution aligns with company objectives, client requirements, and contractual obligations by proactively managing cost, schedule, and progress performance. Project Controls Manager – Field Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct the preparation and status updating of project baseline schedules, budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and performance metrics. Oversee cost management activities including budget development, cost tracking, variance analysis, forecasting, and earned value reporting. Supervise and mentor project controls specialists, planners/schedulers, and cost engineers to ensure consistency and quality. Manage schedule development and updates using Primavera P6, ensuring logical sequencing and critical path identification. Lead the change management process, including evaluation of change orders, assessment of cost/schedule impacts, and maintenance of change logs. Provide detailed project reporting to internal stakeholders and clients, including performance dashboards, trend analyses, and risk assessments. Interface regularly with project managers, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment between controls and project execution. Facilitate risk management processes, including risk identification, quantification, mitigation strategies, and contingency management. Support project audits, reviews, and close-out procedures to capture lessons learned and improve future project delivery. Project Controls Manager – Field Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field. Minimum five years of experience in leading project controls for EPC Industrial Projects. Expertise in project management best practices, cost engineering, scheduling, and earned value management. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Project Controls Manager Physical Demands Overtime required routinely. Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds occasionally. Must have the ability to stand/walk frequently. This position is full-time onsite, which may require temporary travel for extended periods of time.
