Position Summary The Director of Project Execution is responsible for Project Execution Planning and overseeing all multi-disciplinary Engineering Partners (3rd Party Engineering Partners, OEMs, etc.) for EPC projects. Specifically this includes oversight over Engineering for EPC projects from initial conceptual engagement with clients, FEED, and through complete project execution and commissioning. Responsible to establish and manage Engineering Processes, Standards, Specifications, Work Flows, etc. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead the engineering function across all project phases – from FEED to detailed design and construction support. Lead and Collaborate on the development of Project Execution Plans with Project Managers, Procurement, and Contracts teams. Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines. The role will have a small team of direct report engineers to assist with overseeing 3rd Party Engineering groups for execution of detailed engineering. Develop and manage project-specific engineering execution plans, schedules, and budgets in conjunction with the VP, Procurement, and Project Controls teams. Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. Serve as the primary technical interface between engineering, procurement, construction, and client teams. Write and Review Scopes of Work according to the Project Execution Plan. Review and approve technical documents, drawings, specifications, and calculations. Lead/Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and constructability reviews. Support procurement with technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews. Manage technical exchanges in a professional and timely manner to support Construction; RFI & Submittal Process, etc. Support initial engagement with clients for feasibility and FEED scope development. Foster collaboration between internal teams and external consultants or subcontractors. Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and adherence to best practices and lessons learned. Other miscellaneous duties as the business requires to support EPC and self-perform construction projects. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil preferred. Prefer 15 years experience or more in Engineering and Project Management of EPC Projects in Steel Mills or related Heavy Industry. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling software, AutoCAD, and 3D modeling. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills. Physical Demands Must be able to work weekends and long hours in a high pressure working environment. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
