Electrical Project Manager Job Description As a Project Manager, you will oversee a larger volume of projects with varying levels of complexity. Your role will involve strategic direction and alignment of concurrent projects with organizational and executive objectives, aiming to improve operational and financial outcomes. Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of complex projects across multiple sectors and lines of business. Provide on-site leadership by motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to their responsibilities and milestones. Ensure alignment of multiple related projects with strategic objectives. Report on project success criteria, metrics, and deployment management activities. Demonstrate strong knowledge in construction cost estimation and project financial projections. Accurately project costs by phase code related to materials and remaining labor hours. Identify areas of scope creep and mitigate risks while managing design errors and project change orders. Develop estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases. Coordinate with general supervisors and foremen to review revised project labor hours and set expectations for completion. Procure resources to meet project objectives within planned timeframes. Manage day-to-day project activities and communicate additional requirements with the Vice President of Construction. Monitor staff performance and conduct performance reviews. Provide status reports on project milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues to leadership. Follow detailed processes for project execution while analyzing adherence with the Vice President. Act as internal quality control for the project. Manage ongoing quality control and participate in quality issue resolution. Assist in dispute resolution, negotiation, arbitration, or litigation as needed. Support schedule management to adhere to engagement contracts. Ensure understanding of project specifications for installation and communicate requirements to the project team. Develop and manage all aspects of project planning, vendor relationships, communications, resources, budget, and risk management. Delegate tasks and responsibilities appropriately. Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues and conflicts. Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project and program teams. Deliver effective executive-level communication. Ensure projects proceed according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Conduct research into project-related issues and products. Adapt to new technologies and support a diverse and inclusive work environment. Essential Skills 7+ years of experience in electrical construction project management preferred. Experience with full product lifecycle and understanding of development lifecycle methodologies. Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills. Ability to work creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Proven ability to adapt to change and competing demands. Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors. Proficiency in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project Sight, Procore, and Blue Beam. Experience in successfully leading projects to on-time and within budget. Experience leading and managing various project team sizes. Additional Skills & Qualifications E1/E2 electrical license preferred but not mandatory. Experience with Accubid, BlueBeam, Procore software. Experience with change orders, budgeting, scheduling, RFIs, submittals, take-offs, and buyouts. Project management skills required. Experience working both independently and collaboratively. Work Environment This position is full-time and primarily office-based, with occasional visits to job sites. Projects are located in Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford, and Litchfield counties, spanning commercial, healthcare, and multifamily sectors with budgets ranging from $1k to $16M.
