The Project Manager is responsible for managing and executing projects aligned with the credit union’s strategic goals and operational objectives. This includes detailed planning, budget oversight, resource allocation, and cross-departmental coordination. The Project Manager will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver projects on schedule, within scope & budget, and provide regular updates to leadership.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Develops comprehensive project plans outlining scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and required resources. Executes project plans, monitoring project progress, and making necessary adjustments to accommodate changes and mitigate risks. Allocates resources effectively, assign tasks, and holds team members accountable. Organizes and leads regular project meetings, providing clear agendas and capturing detailed notes and action items. Communicates project updates clearly and effectively to project teams and stakeholders. Identifies, manages, and escalates project risks and issues promptly, providing recommended solutions. Works closely with leadership to ensure project alignment with organizational objectives. Facilitates stakeholder engagement, consensus-building, and decision-making processes throughout the project lifecycle. Manages the handoff process upon project completion, clearly defining ownership and facilitating smooth transition to business owners. Collaborates with training and the appropriate stakeholders to ensure comprehensive training materials and documentation are created; and distributed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Experience with core applications/banking software preferred. Education (1) A bachelor’s degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree. PMP certification strongly preferred. Interpersonal Skills Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others. Other Skills Excellent organizational and editing skills using Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, and project management software; typing skills of 50 wpm; proficient with spreadsheets.
