POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO) is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving enterprise-wide program and project execution excellence. The Vice President of EMPO will lead the development, implementation, and governance of the organization’s project and portfolio management framework, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy, operational efficiency, and value delivery. Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Strategy, the Vice President of EPMO will oversee a team of program and project managers, collaborate with senior leaders across the Integrated Delivery Network (IDN), and serve as a key advisor on strategic initiatives. The Vice President of EMPO will leverage strategies with a deep expertise in portfolio management, change management, process improvement, and enterprise transformation.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES

Develops and implements a comprehensive enterprise program management strategy aligned with overall business goals. Identifies, prioritizes, and manages a portfolio of critical strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Collaborates with executive leadership to define program objectives, success metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs). Oversees the enterprise project portfolio, ensuring initiatives are aligned with strategic goals and deliver measurable value. Establishes and enforces governance frameworks, standards, and best practices for project and program management. Monitors program progress, identify potential risks and issues, and proactively develop mitigation strategies and manages program budgets, resource allocation, and timelines to optimize efficiency and deliver projects on time and within budget. Ensures adherence to established program management methodologies, standards, and governance processes. Develops strong relationships with key stakeholders across different departments, including senior executives, project sponsors, and functional leaders. Delivers communications on program status, updates, and key decisions in an effective manner to stakeholders through clear and concise reporting. Manages expectations proactively and address concerns to maintain alignment and support for program initiatives. Leads the development and implementation of tools, methodologies, and performance metrics to enhance project delivery and reporting. Drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize project lifecycle management and resource utilization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or relevant field.

Work Experience:

Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in program/project management, with at least five (5) of those years in an enterprise-level PMO or similar function.

Licensure:
None Certification:

Any one of the following prior to start date and maintained: Project Management Professional (PMP) OR Program Management Professional (PGMP) OR Similar certification.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

Proven track record of managing large-scale, cross-functional programs and portfolios. Strong knowledge of project management and process improvement methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile, Lean Six Sigma). Expertise with enterprise tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Clarity, or similar platforms. Skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation. Highly articulate and able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner. Strong business acumen and data analytics skills. People management skills and the ability to organize, motivate and lead diverse teams to achieve results Demonstrated superior service excellence and collaboration skills in working with key leaders and stakeholders. Possess executive level presence with superior written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with a high degree of resourcefulness.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or relevant field.

Work Experience:

Fifteen (15) years’ experience in the Healthcare environment, with a focus on leading projects at the senior or executive level.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping. Long periods of computer time or at workstation. Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance. May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise. Communicating with others to exchange information. Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks. Workspace may vary from open to confined.
