Project Controls Specialist – Temporary Garth Solutions, Inc. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311

GENERAL DUTIES :

Project Control Specialists represent the project control department and provide direct support to management. They help establish standard operating procedures to control the risks associated with the projects. They help develop and monitor key project metrics and perform quality control reviews.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Working with clients to understand their business objectives and priorities to develop project plans that are realistic and achievable Coordinating activities between all project participants, including architects, engineers, contractors, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients as needed Monitoring project performance to identify potential problems and issues that could lead to schedule slippage or cost overruns Monitoring costs to ensure that they remain within budget guidelines Providing technical support for PMIS (e-Builder) Preparing reports about project status and finances for internal use and for presentation to clients Promote e-Builder software, oversee, records and coordinates its upgrades. Troubleshoot the day-to-day processes and procedures through embedded workflows that support core functions such as schedule and resource management, cost control, construction administration, change management, funding management and claims mitigation Auditing & updating of

Project control specialists communicate with many different stakeholders throughout their workday. They may need to explain complex processes to clients, explain project delays to executives or explain project changes to project team members. Effective communication is an essential skill for project control specialists.

Being able to organize your time and tasks effectively can help you manage your workload and complete your projects on time Critical thinking: Critical thinking is the ability to analyze a situation and make informed decisions. Project control specialists use critical thinking to make decisions about project management strategies. They may also use critical thinking to solve problems that arise during a project.

Problem-solving:

Problem-solving skills allow project control specialists to identify and resolve issues and solutions to budget issues, scheduling conflicts or other challenges that arise.

Detail-oriented:

Project Control Specialists need to be detail-oriented to ensure they’re following the right processes and procedures. Being detail-oriented can help you notice any issues or deviations in a project’s plan and take the necessary steps to resolve them. Being detail-oriented can also help you notice any potential risks and take steps to mitigate them. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform this position’s duties, such as: Bachelor’s degree -business administration, finance or engineering. 5 years minimum experience working on construction projects or related public works capital projects. Experience managing documents in e-Builder PMIS system . Key Performance Indicators (KPIs ) Ensure various elements of the project adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures Communicate progress updates through reports
