Construction Project Manager Job Summary:
The Construction Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing and managing the successful execution of glass and glazing projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. This role involves collaborating closely with Assistant Project Managers (APMs) and other stakeholders to facilitate project milestones and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure seamless project execution. Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and requirements. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Budget Management:
Review project budgets and monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle. Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage project finances effectively to meet budgetary constraints. Collaborate with the finance department to track project expenses, process invoices, and reconcile accounts.
Client Communication and Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders. Communicate project updates, milestones, and challenges effectively to stakeholders. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business opportunities.
Contract Management:
Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, and other legal documents related to the project. Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions, and resolve any disputes or discrepancies that may arise.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship and materials meet industry standards and project specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
Team Leadership and Development:
Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including site supervisors, subcontractors, and support staff. Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to support their development.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and liabilities. Monitor project progress closely and proactively address any issues or challenges that may arise.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, drawings, permits, and correspondence. Prepare regular progress reports, budget forecasts, and other project-related documentation for stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field. Proven experience in construction project management, preferably within the glass and glazing industry. Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
