HDR has an excitingopportunity for a proven leader and technically exceptionalindividual in the municipal utility marketplace to join our FloridaWater Business Group as a Senior Project Manager.

You will beresponsible for scoping, planning, managing, directing, andmonitoring all aspects of small to large municipal utilityprojects, including water and wastewater treatment facilities,pumping stations, and utility management. More specifically, theSenior Municipal Project Manager will be expected to effectivelyinterface with clients while independently leading and supervisingteams of engineers and CAD professionals to develop planningdocuments (e.g. master plans), preliminary engineering reports,detailed designs including plans and specifications, and costestimates.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Serving as the trust client-facing project manager for avariety of technical delivery projects that exceed the Owner’sexpectations. Preparing and developing preliminary design, basis of designreports, design criteria, schematics, routing and alignmentstudies, and other engineering reports. Overseeing the production of design drawings andspecifications. Developing and executing QA/QC and risk management plans foreach project. Lead and/or support client management and business developmentactivities including pursuit planning, proposals, interviews, andclient strategy. Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and supervision forproject staff.

If needed, the Senior Municipal Project Manager maybe required to perform detailed design work themselves to supportthe project and as such, the candidate should have an exceptionaldemonstrated technical background.

Beyond technical delivery, theSenior Municipal Project Manager will be expected to collaboratewith leadership, other project managers, and technical staff acrossFlorida to maintain HDR’s commitment to excellent technicaldelivery for our clients. Opportunities will be available toprovide project management and project delivery support forcross-business group and cross-sector (e.g. Transportation andCoastal / Resilience projects and pursuits), especially in theSouth Florida market.

Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Environmental, orMechanical Engineering. 15 years related experience in the municipal utility and/orpublic works industry. Experience in coastal engineering and resiliency. Experience in Utility Management. Existing and established relationships with clients in themunicipal and utility marketplace. Experience developing detailed scopes and fees for a widevariety of planning and design projects. Excellent communication, time management, organizational, andinterpersonal skills. Experience in supervising staff, mentorship, and development ofskills of staff. Preference given to local candidates.

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 10 years related experience. A minimum of 5 years project management experience. Professional Engineer (PE) license. MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would bea plus). Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategicplanning skills. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant ofour employee-owned culture is a must.
