Overview:

This position is responsible for coordinating permitting efforts for ongoing land development projects. The role involves researching permitting processes and timelines, coordinating with regulatory agencies, tracking project schedules, and assisting clients with property research and due diligence to evaluate site suitability.

Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation and submission of complex permit applications, addressing any deficiencies with regulatory agencies. Develop detailed project and permitting schedules, ensuring engineering design teams meet deadlines and milestones. Communicate with clients regarding permit application status and any changes to project timelines. Coordinate with municipal staff on permitting matters, compliance issues, and zoning clarifications. Conduct in-depth research on zoning laws, environmental regulations, and site constraints to support project feasibility. Prepare comprehensive due diligence reports covering regulatory considerations, schedules, and utility information. Collaborate with senior staff to review due diligence reports for accuracy before client submission. Integrate code research findings into project designs and permitting strategies. Attend meetings with regulatory agencies at various stages of the land development process. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, municipal staff, and other stakeholders. Perform additional related duties as needed.

Qualifications:

3+ years of relevant experience in zoning research, land use regulations, and permitting processes. Familiarity with the land development process. Proficiency in preparing due diligence reports, including research on utilities, fees, and regulatory considerations. Strong proficiency in project management software, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Excellent writing skills for documenting research findings and preparing reports. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external teams. Ability to work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm with overtime as needed.
