THIS ROLE

As the Project Manager you will be responsible for managing all aspects of marine dredging projects including providing technical/operational expertise to estimating, participating in the preparation of the proposal, labor and resource planning, scheduling, generate and review project requirements, taking a project from preconstruction phase to final approval.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Project Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of CMC dredging projects Coordinates and delegates with all Curtin staff related to dredge projects – Dredge Superintendents, Port Captains, Port Engineers, Crewing, Project Engineers, Field Engineers, Site Admins, HSSE & SSHOs, Dredge Captain, Dredge Crew, Auxiliary Crews, Yard Support, and Boat Captains. Project scheduling using Critical Path Method (CPM) Identify improvements in all systems, safety, project reporting etc., including implementing plans that will yield more efficient dredging methods Develop project plan that meets client requirements and timeline Overall responsibility for successful execution of the job Forecast budget and track expenditures Serve as primary contact with client Lead all daily communications and meetings with Curtin Management team Able to perform all duties related to the CQC Manager on USACE projects as needed Work with CMC Construction team to develop project plans that meet client requirements and timeline Assist with creation of post award client submittals and other deliverables Work with Crewing team to coordinate all vessel and crew needs Work with Crewing team to manage project logistics Oversee procurement of project equipment and consumables Manage all third-party subcontractors and rental companies in conjunction with Site Administrators Manage all mobilization efforts Oversee all required daily reporting Daily QC of survey, dredge plan and productions Monitor field engineer/surveyor for prompt distribution of daily deliverables to dredge crews Review materials for weekly client meeting, lead meetings Continually monitor site conditions for change orders or modifications Work closely with Finance for billing and budget tracking Provide technical expertise to Estimating to assist in the preparation of proposals Regularly track project milestones Identify potential conflicts or delays in the project timeline and work to resolve Manage resources needed to successfully complete the project Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies

WHO YOU ARE

Certifications and Other Requirement Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (any discipline) or Construction Management preferred Preferred 3+ years’ experience in hydrographic survey and/or dredging management USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) Certification RMS competency and ability to update daily reports for clients OSHA 30 40-Hour

Primavera P6 Certification Develop SOPs for dredge operations and project management Create cost and production estimates for bids Reduces downtime scenarios with excellent planning, maintaining critical spares, and implementing strategies to maximize efficiency Identifies and leads the charge on change orders, differing site conditions, REAs, etc. Ability to mobilize, execute, and demobilize a dredge project from a contractual and operational standpoint with minimal guidance Drives cost control and manages project estimates in conjunction with Finance. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Responsible for all contract negotiations with the client and vendors. Conducts negotiations in good faith based on fairness, cooperation and standard of business ethics. Creates and improves on SOPs Acts as a leader and mentor to other staff and new dredge staff, providing training and coaching on administrative duties Advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Hypack and/or other Survey software Ability to operate small marine vessels preferred Technical understanding of construction and maintenance of marine vessels Ability to read and understand technical manuals and drawings, ABS, USCG rules Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record required Valid TWIC Aptitudes Experience in identifying and anticipating design/production work sequence conflicts required Excellent written and oral communication skills required Demonstrated knowledge of scheduling, possess an ability to monitor progress to schedule and adhere to strict deadlines required Willingness and ability to spend time onboard the vessel going up and down staircases and vertical ladders required Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic Strong negotiation skills both verbal and written Ability to get along with office staff and vessel crewmembers Confidence to initiate correspondence with crewmembers and staff Work outside as well as inside in an office environment Must meet “fit for duty” requirements upon job offer (pre-employment physical and drug test) The employee must meet physical requirements including but not limited to, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing up/down ladders and stairs, negotiating uneven and moving surfaces Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted Additional Requirements Rotational – 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off Willingness to travel to project sites or Long Beach yard as needed. Ability to work on tight deadlines for project needs outside normal business hours.
