DESCRIPTION

Job Summary Responsible for project value delivery in support of multiple business products, IT products, or objectives that are large in scope & complexity, using advanced capabilities in Agile and Project Management within the CSX IT Governance Framework as needed for the initiative. Actively manages project startup, planning, and updates throughout the project related to goals and objectives, scope, resources, release plans/schedules, stakeholder communications, funding/budget, and risks for an array of large or complex projects within an IT portfolio of products. Significant involvement in the project execution, focused on project team efforts to deliver current quarter milestones on schedule with high quality, while still maintaining structures to ensure readiness and delivery for upcoming quarters. Primary Activities and Responsibilities Independently, actively manages project startup and planning for an array of projects within an IT portfolio of products. Applies Agile and Project Management methodologies within the CSX IT Governance Framework. Creates artifacts with minimal oversight to support project startup, planning related to project goals and objectives, scope, resources, release plans/schedules, stakeholder communications, funding/budget, and risks for one or more projects that are large in scope & complexity, within an IT portfolio of products. Leads stakeholders through the development and project life cycles, leveraging Agile and Project Management frameworks as appropriate. Facilitates Agile ceremonies. Manages project, release, and team burndown information and provides routine status reporting. Updates project artifacts throughout project. Actively works with Product Manager to review project deliverables and manage project scope and change. Removes obstacles and impediments within the development life cycle. Supports the activities of the project team, acting as a liaison to other departments, business partners, and vendors. Reviews project deliverables. Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders for project communications. Ensures adherence to CSX standards, such as Architecture and Compliance. Refines and improves departmental processes within the CSX IT Governance Framework. Manages and oversees progress and reporting to ensure project and portfolio objectives are met and communicated, deliverables are on schedule and of high quality, budgets are reported on and managed, RAID log is maintained, and team performance is as expected. Identifies and surfaces issues and risks, identifies and executes mitigation plans and ensures resolution of necessary tradeoffs. Maintains responsibility for project activities and reporting through to closure. May be asked or invited to serve as a contributor, influencer, thought-leader etc. on team, function or enterprise initiatives, as business opportunity and individual experience/interest/needs dictate. Perform any other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree/4-year Degree 3 or more years of experience in experience required managing or leading IT projects Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree/4-year Degree 7 or more years of experience in experience required managing or leading IT projects 7 or more years of supervisory experience in IT supervisory experience required Knowledge and Skills Proficiency and understanding of Project Management and Agile Methodologies (incl.
