- Hybrid work Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized, experienced, and proactive professional to join our team as the Director’s Assistant within our Design Department.
This role is critical to the success of our operations, supporting the Director of Design in daily administrative tasks, process improvements, and software development initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in contract furniture and design, along with a passion for teamwork, organization, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Provide design assistance for special projects as needed. Attend and document key meetings, trainings, and vendor presentations to support Design Team alignment. Serve as the Design Department’s representative on the CI Culture Champion Committee, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture. Support the Director of Design in conducting initial interviews for department candidates. Address routine questions via the Design Chat related to specifications, vendor recommendations, and software troubleshooting. Assist with onboarding, training workshops, and the preparation of internal training documentation. Conduct ADA clearance checks, specification audits, and space planning reviews. Provide critical software support coverage in the Director’s absence. Maintain and update key reference materials and documentation, including catalogs and training records. Prepare and submit weekly EID reports for the Director of Design. Perform additional tasks to support departmental efficiency and growth. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a designer in the contract, healthcare, or hospitality firm. Strong understanding of the contract furniture dealer workflow and project lifecycle. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Advanced communication, time management, and organizational skills. Experience managing multiple concurrent projects. Strong critical thinking and process-improvement mindset. Intermediate proficiency in CAP 2020, CET, and Monday.com. Deep understanding of The CI Group processes and procedures is highly desired. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions
