ELS is hiring for the position of Environmental Project Manager in Tampa, Florida. What you’ll do: This position requires interactions with regulatory agencies associated with inspections at properties, resolution, and documentation of Warning Letters, Compliance Assistance Offers, Notice of Violations and Designated Environmental Incident best practices, coordination and oversight of all routine and emergency regulatory testing requirements according to federal, state, and local regulations and coordination of compliance programs and vendor management.
Your job will include:
Ensure company compliance with environmental regulations and serve as the liaison with external and governmental agencies Manage and execute Environmental capital projects, from idea to closeout Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to ensure property compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management and wildlife management regulations Conduct inspections and assessments to determine compliance with required regulations Provide Operations teams with advice and recommendations regarding compliance issues and corrective actions Analyze and evaluate data and prepare reports to apprise management of property environmental compliance Communicate regulatory interpretations and compliance schedules to Operations personnel Evaluate new permits and develop and coordinate the implementation of compliance plans Prepares Environmental Compliance capital project budgets Conducts due diligence and environmental reports review for loan refinancing and/or acquisition of new properties Experience & skills you will need: 5+ years of related experience Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience Strong working knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable requirements Ability to develop, implement and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to translate regulatory compliance requirements into understandable language for Operations and Maintenance personnel. Ability to work in a field environment, manage contract resources Ability to manage sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, company personnel and the public Willingness to travel and you possess a valid driver’s license.
