PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing New Products Development (NPD) initiatives including innovations, renovations, sampling, couponing, and display opportunities. The Project will ensure complete change control forms for all initiatives are completed before initiating any work and ensure all projects are delivered on time and within scope. This role is also expected to provide support for all co-packing activities at DeMert.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the new product development process for new innovations, line extensions, new formats and new categories. Lead weekly projects status calls, ensuring all projects are on-track, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks. Audit and correct master data, specification sheets, BOMs and other related documents. Thoroughly test components and displays, establishing execution protocols for display construction. Developing cost analysis that assesses various alternatives and ultimately selects the most advantageous option for the business. This should encompass factors such as COGS, transportation, complexity, and human power requirements. Develop transition plans for renovations including depletion dates for old components and production dates to ensure orders from customers are fulfilled On-Time and In-Full while minimizing liabilities to the company. Manage Display execution end-to-end including creating the project timeline, feasibility, execution, transportation, and planning. Partner with Marketing Innovation and Sales on all display projects. Co-packaging planning responsibilities for all Amazon items, trade marketing and displays to ensure healthy inventory levels and avoid out-of-stock. Manage change control execution ensuring all activities at DeMert are properly documented and risk being evaluated. Partner with Marketing Innovation and R D on packaging and formulation safety, stability, pilot batching and claims testing. Partner with R D to oversee pilot testing at TPMs. Ensure all products are meeting specs and work with cross functionals to ensure all projects meet deadlines. Oversee packaging component development process and assist in packaging engineering needs. Partner with Procurement on the qualification process of new TPMs and assess vendor capabilities for white space opportunities to drive profitability and innovation. Create cost savings by leading product transfer and co-packing initiatives.
Requirements:
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, Contract Manufacturers. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Focused on driving execution with a strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, while meeting aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Problem-solving and analytical skills with a high degree of execution excellence and the ability to work on challenging timelines. Project Management knowledge including related software (Asana, Microsoft Project, among others). Demonstrated results driving Process Improvement and building Project Management capabilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year of Manufacturing experience, ideally in a CPG batch making facility. Experience in CPG Project Management, Operations or Supply Chain, preferably in the Beauty industry. Package Engineering or Process Engineering experience will be a plus. Supply Chain Management, Project Management or Engineering Degree. Materials planning or supply planning experience will be a plus.
