This position works cooperatively with the staff members of the CJIS Consortium agencies (Administrative Office of the Courts, Public Defender’s Office, and State Attorney’s Office), CJIS Programmer/Analysts, and others to gather project requirements and to assist the agencies with training and implementation of CJIS programs, systems, and features. This position requires the individual to possess effective leadership and organizational skills as well as excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. The CJIS Project Manager is a member of the CJIS Department. A CJIS Project Manager’s primary responsibilities include the following: (1) Project Management (2) Documentation and Training (3) Interface with Vendors (4) Facilitate the Creation of Electronic Feeds/Interfaces Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management:

Serve as project lead for multiple simultaneous projects of varying size and complexity Manage project team members in their assignments to successfully complete deliverables and implement technology-related solutions Gather and document business requirements from multiple agencies and stakeholders, whether within or outside of the CJIS Consortium Assist the CJIS Consortium agencies with the creation of statements of work, goals, objectives, major deliverables, training materials, etc. related to the development and deployment of technologies and systems Manage the testing of systems and solutions Develop system review schedules, audits, and test plans for each project Track all issues and their remediation for each system Provide periodic reports containing pertinent information such as needs, critical issues, and releases Travel throughout the circuit as needed 2.

Documentation and Training:

Create training and technical documentation for software and systems developed in-house as well as vendor-provided software and systems Assist CJIS Consortium agencies and other agencies (such as law enforcement) in creating training materials and conducting training sessions for software and systems supported by CJIS 3. Interface with

Work with vendors to ensure the timely and correct implementation of systems, enhancements, and bug fixes Test changes to vendor-provided systems and supply timely feedback regarding the test results Coordinate production system releases between the vendor(s), CJIS staff, the CJIS Consortium agencies, and possibly other agencies for vendor-provided systems 4. EXPERIENCE

An associate degree in business, technology, or criminal justice and a minimum of one year of technology-related professional project management experience required or Two years of technology-related professional project management experience required. Experience in criminal justice highly desired. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired. Supplemental Information

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS CJIS

Security Awareness Training – level 4 A valid Florida driver license is required. Project management-related certifications highly desired.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
