Permit Coordinator We are excited to share a new opportunity! PrideStaff, a nationally recognized staffing company, has been given an opportunity to assist a top employer in Fort Myers to find their Permit Coordinator.
We invite applications for a Permit Coordinator position. The successful candidate will facilitate smooth permitting processes from start to finish. Strong knowledge of regulations and excellent organizational skills are essential.
Hours:
Monday- Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Pay Rate:
$25/Hr.

Permit Coordinator Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate the permit application process for various projects
- Research and interpret local building codes and zoning regulations
- Prepare and submit permit applications and supporting documentation to relevant authorities
- Act as a liaison between the company, clients, and government agencies
- Track permit status and follow up on pending applications
- Maintain accurate records of all permit-related activities and communications
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to ensure compliance with permitting requirements
- Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies that arise during the permitting process
- Stay up-to-date on changes in local, state, and federal regulations affecting our industry
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with permitting officials and inspectors
- Coordinate site visits and inspections as needed
- Prepare reports on permitting activities and outcomes for management
- Assist in developing strategies to streamline the permitting process
- Provide guidance to team members on permitting requirements and best practices
Permit Coordinator Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and permit tracking software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Customer service-oriented with a professional demeanor
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Knowledge of construction industry terminology and practices (preferred)
- Experience with GIS mapping and zoning research (a plus)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
