United States Pay rate: $42/hr on W2 Max Scope of Services The Office of Information Technology (OIT), Application Services, is seeking a Project Management Specialist with the ability to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.
The candidate must:
Adhere to State, Department, OIT, and Application Services processes and procedures.
Possess a working knowledge of:
Program and project management responsibilities Resource management practices Change management techniques State IT requirements, specifically Rules 60GG-1 through 5, F.A.C. Coordinate efforts across multiple large and/or cross-functional, high-impact projects. Develop and maintain working relationships with business office staff. Provide research, support, and guidance for key IT initiatives. Handle moderately to highly complex tasks involving multiple technical environments and business areas supported by IT.???????
Education Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a financial-related field.
Substitution:
Professional work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the degree.
Special Consideration:
Given to candidates with PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar agile/project management certifications.
Experience Minimum:
5 years of experience in: Business process reengineering and documentation. A professional environment within public sector technology organizations.
Must be able to describe:
Multiple past experiences using business process tools. How these tools were used to achieve successful outcomes. Primary Job Duties/Tasks The candidate must be capable of performing the following duties: Design, implement, evaluate, and audit project management processes and templates. Compile metrics related to project success, attributes, and productivity. Act as a resource and mentor to project managers and leaders. Provide administrative support to project teams. Maintain project documentation and templates. Communicate regularly with staff and project managers to ensure mutual needs are met. Gather and document strategic goals and translate them into technical requirements. Serve as a liaison between Application Services and other FDOT business units. Understand and suggest solutions for technical problems in the current and future business environments. Identify, document, and improve existing processes; design and implement new ones. Continuously review and update processes as business conditions change. Monitor and maintain quality assurance practices. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies. Support remediation, modernization, and migration efforts through process redesign and documentation. Facilitate work sessions for business case and feasibility study documentation. Translate business requirements into detailed business or functional documentation. Coordinate schedules, implementation plans, and documentation for IT projects. Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including drafting and executing test cases. Evaluate and synthesize data for executive and detailed reporting. Develop desk procedures outlining purpose, prerequisites, and process flows. Prepare business rules and knowledge transfer activities. Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Project management tools, methods, and best practices (e.g., PMBOK). Quality assurance/control techniques and tools. Transportation technology operations. Project management, process management, and business systems requirements definition. Producing comprehensive and legible functional documentation. Analyzing and designing efficient workflows and identifying gaps or redundancies. Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work for self and team.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Agile methodologies and project management practices.
