The role:

A Senior Project Manager with HVAC and plumbing expertise, you’ll oversee a portfolio of projects, primarily in healthcare and education, but also including labs and underground utilities. Projects up to $30M, combining ground-up construction and complex renovations. You’ll manage everything from medical gas systems and estimating to tight turnaround school upgrades, often running multiple jobs simultaneously while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of project planning and execution, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety and quality standards Manage pre-construction activities, including estimating, budgeting, and scheduling in collaboration with stakeholders and field teams Administer project documentation, contract management, and cost control processes Lead subcontractor negotiations and procurement, ensuring alignment with project goals Actively manage project schedules in coordination with superintendents and foremen Monitor field productivity, maintain accurate reporting on labor and materials, and drive performance improvements Coordinate project changes and formalize scope modifications with clients and trade partners Ensure proper permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle Serve as the primary liaison with clients, consultants, and internal leadership, ensuring clear communication and client satisfaction Promote a culture of safety and quality, including jobsite oversight and incident response Support team development, staffing needs, and ongoing training initiatives

Qualifications:

Proven track record managing complex mechanical construction projects, preferably in healthcare, school environments Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) PMP, CCM, or similar certifications are considered assets OSHA 30 certification, with First Aid/CPR training Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings/specifications, and cost control methods Proficiency in project management software and MS Office tools Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments and deliver consistent results Familiarity with design-build and self-perform project delivery models is preferred
