Work Hours:

Monday•Friday, 8:00am•5:00pm (Flexible Schedule)

Expected Starting Annual Range:

$58,141.44•$75,583.87This classification is responsible for management and oversight of various project-types. Facilitates the lead functions of project and case assignment for the Community Planning Division including, tracking and documentation of several projects throughout all stages of the planning development review process. Work also involves coordinating staff project activities for the division, including the preparation, reporting and analysis of assigned projects, and ensuring project control procedures and policies within a program of related projects are executed.

Working ConditionsIndoor/Outdoor situation; high noise environment while performing certain responsibilities. Lifting equipment up to 50 lbs. alone; up to 75 lbs. with assistance.

Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job duties.

Leads and monitors all scheduling activities, including project repositories of documents, relevant to project and case management associated with development review, affordable housing, economic development, property management, CIP, and building division.

Facilitates the rapid response team with development process, including planning and permitting of horizontal and vertical projects.

Builds successful working relationship with the development community, property owners, business owners, regulatory agencies, non-profits, and other community stakeholders, county departments, and neighborhood groups.

Participates in project scoping and rapid response permitting meetings. Facilitates project completion, identifies areas of concern and recommends solutions.

Prioritize, organize, and manage issues for resolution, internal and external communications, and documenting status of projects.

Coordinates plan review activities with relevant county departments, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Performs considerable short-term and long-term planning, scheduling, and coordinating within area of responsibility. Interprets and implements management policies for area of responsibility.

Develops presentation documentation as required for projects and consolidate program status reports.

Exercises discretion in managing correspondence, information, and escalating issues where appropriate.

Prepares various project documents.

Attends industry-related meetings, as required.

Outlines priorities and organize workload to meet project demands.

Monitor, evaluate, and make recommendation for adjustments to general operations of the oversight of project and case management, to include the evaluation of forms, procedures, etc., for other areas in the Planning Division, modifying as needed to improve efficiency.

Organizes and coordinates special reports for the Director, Deputy Director, Division Managers, County Administrator, and Board of County Commissioners.

Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Prior project management experience desired.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to be able to deal professionally and effectively with staff, developers, public officials, and other stakeholders.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of principles, practices and techniques of urban planning, public administration, affordable housing, community development, and redevelopment.

Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
