Job Summary The Leader of Delivery Operations Project Management is responsible for leading the alignment of assigned DO organizational roles, responsibilities and methods to enable the success of Project Management and Operational Program Execution Key Responsibilities for this position include: Support the development and implementation of Departmental PM strategies and policies to create value through the consistent utilization of Enterprise and Departmental Project Management Discipline Direct a staff of Project Managers and Project Controls professionals and enlist / equip other organizational leaders to effectively apply Project Management and Operational Program Execution policy, procedures, tools and communications for the assigned Deliver Operations jurisdiction As the Jurisditional Delivery Operations Change leader for Project Management, accountable for Project Management and Operational Program Execution methods to achieve consistency across assigned jurisdiction and in alignment with the other jurisdictions Ensures, monthly project reviews, budget projections, quality assurance, effective risk, scope and schedule management and close out of assigned project and program annual capital and O&M spend Accountable owner of conflict relocation program and relationships with DOT leaders, as well as other agencies. In this role, the incumbent is accountable to ensure effective and timely completion of relocation work, accurate, timely billing and collections of reimbursable projects Required/Basic Qualifications Bachelors degree in Project Management or Engineering AND eight (8) years minimum required related experience In lieu of degree and experience listed above, High School/GED AND 13 years minimum required related experience Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Project Management or Engineering Project Management Professional (PMP) Professional Engineer (PE) Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) Contractors License Construction Management Utility Technical Certification Additional Preferred Qualifications Strong Expertise in Project Management, Decision Making, Critical Thinking, and Problem Solving Project related work experience Risk Management; Leadership Employee Management/Development; Oversight Ability to understand and coach / lead project management professionals to effectively apply discipline, tools and skills
Utility Experience:
Construction Management knowledge Expertise in project related Scheduling, Cost Controls, Quality, Risk; organizational management experience in field engineering, operations, resource management and corporate policy governance roles, such as Standards, Business Excellence, Grid Modification, etc. Ability to lead initiatives and build support for cultural changes Performance of major storm leadership roles in the corporate and field environments Working Conditions Hybrid Mobility Classification – Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility. 3 days in office; flexible Preferred location is Ocala, FL.
