The Opportunity Our client, a government agency in Miami-Dade County, is seeking a Project Manager to lead agency-led IT or digital services projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for preparing project documentation, identifying work tasks, developing schedules, and facilitating collaboration between internal staff, department personnel, and third-party vendors. This is a hybrid position that requires the candidate to be local and available for on-site meetings. The successful candidate will manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in alignment with strategic goals. A strong understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies is essential, and demonstratable experience delivering similar projects with minimal supervision. In this role, the Project Manager will deliver weekly reports, status updates, and managing coordination across multiple stakeholders. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Plan, execute, and finalize IT projects according to deadlines and budgets Coordinate internal staff, department personnel, and third-party vendors to execute project tasks Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including Project charter, Work breakdown structure (WBS), Risk management plan, Communications plan, Change management plan, Stakeholder register, Status and progress reports Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project or Excel Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders and project teams Conduct project meetings, track action items and decisions, and manage risks/issues Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables Submit weekly status updates and progress reports to agency leadership and ITD PMO Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable procedures Support vendor selection and management activities Assist in procurement processes, including drafting scope of work and evaluation criteria Compensation and Term This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $115,000 per year. Qualifications you need A successful candidate has the following experience: Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Business Administration, Communication, Information Systems, or related field. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience as a Project Manager leading IT or digital service projects Demonstrated experience managing public-sector or cross-functional technology projects Skilled in developing comprehensive project documentation Proficient in project scheduling, risk tracking, and status reporting using MS Project, Excel, or similar tools Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Must reside in South Florida and be available for on-site meetings on short notice PMP or equivalent project management certification Familiarity with government procurement not required but preferred Working with us Working with TECKpert means more options.
