$77.4K – $96.1K a year 10 hours ago Qualifications Google Workspace 5 years Program development Writing skills Microsoft Office Fundraising Mailchimp Senior level Communication skills Full Job Description Director of Special Charitable Projects This full-time, hybrid, position supports community-based initiatives carried under the umbrella of the Miami Beach based Plutzik Goldwasser Family Foundation with a special focus on Zara’s Center – an Afterschool Safe Haven for Youth in Emganwini, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and targeted charitable activities of the Betsy Hotel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration of Zara’s Center, located in Zimbabwe Handle day-to-day (US-based) administration for Zara’s Center.

Schedule regular meetings with:

Board Chair (USA) , Executive Director (ZIM), VP (USA) Ensure timely wires- to pay staff and fund special international projects Manage, Track, and Report on budget and finances; Monitor and track tax needs and issues, maintain Labrynth charitable registrations; Provide supervision and support for Zim-based E.D. with regular meetings via WhatsApp. Collect project performance data, tracking and analysis – for various stakeholders, various forms Spearhead shipments of goods to Zimbabwe, responding to the needs and directives of Zim-team. Maintain file and tracking systems for the program – and create shared mechanisms for review. Expand the development program to increase and diversify donor pool and donations. Provide leadership for

TEAM ZARA

(runners/donors) for the NYC and MIA Charity Marathons, annually Lead an annual letter-writing campaign and develop new creative fundraising channels/programs Work with Board Chair , VP and Zim Based Executive Director to refine and develop programming Work with Board Chair, VP and Zim based Exec Director to develop new creative fund raising channels Communications and Marketing (for Zara’s Center) Manage and create content for integrated communications program on zarascenter.org and (other) SM pathways; Newsletters; Annual Report, other donor cultivation materials Build community-based and academic program sponsorships through Zara’s Ambassador’s Program Manage current donor-database (DONOR SNAP) with related, variable documentation and analysis Maintain (and build) contact lists for donors and supporters Establish outreach, donation acknowledgment, and social media engagement programs. Ad-hoc support as directed by Board Chair (USA), and VP (USA) for charitable programs and partners, administered under the auspices of PG Family Foundation, The Betsy Community Fund, and The Betsy Hotel.

Minimum Requirements:

Higher Education and a minimum of five years related professional non-profit work experience. Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently without daily supervision. Understanding of non-profit fundraising and program development, and experience maintaining a donor database. Skilled with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Mailchimp, related design tools, and data management

Preferred Qualifications:

International work experience preferred; Familiarity with issues in global relief and related youth programs; Sensitivity to cultural dynamics of working internationally; Familiarity with Zimbabwean culture, history, and current events is a plus.

Compensation, Benefits, and Other:

You will be employed by The Betsy Hotel, the home of the Plutzik Goldwasser Foundation, the fiscal umbrella under which Zara’s Center operates. Competitive salary, based on experience. We’re seeking candidates willing to consider a 2-year commitment to the position with the potential for pay increases based on established milestones, subject to mutual agreement. Willing to consider candidates wishing to start the position part time as they transition to full time within three months. Base location in Miami Beach area preferred but not required. Willingness to travel internationally so valid passport required.
