Miami, Florida Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our team in Miami, Florida . The Senior Project Manager serves as the company’s primary representative on assigned projects, responsible for overall project execution, profitability, and client satisfaction. This role leads all phases of the project lifecycle—from preconstruction through closeout—and contributes to the company’s long-term growth and performance through leadership and operational excellence. The Senior Project Manager reports to a Project Executive or Business Unit Leader and directly manages Project Managers, Superintendents, and support staff. This position also coordinates cross-functional efforts with Preconstruction, Business Development, and Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the delivery of the initial project fee and enforce safety protocols across the project Forecast and plan staffing needs for both preconstruction and active construction phases Make staffing recommendations and participate in hiring, training, recognition, and performance reviews Support resource allocation including materials, labor, and equipment Promptly manage and document all change requests from owners or subcontractors Oversee the accurate and timely procurement of materials and services Ensure precise and complete scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers Lead monthly project financial reviews with the Project Executive Develop and maintain project schedules with input from the Superintendent Participate in contract negotiations with owners and assist in creating Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) proposals Lead subcontractor buyout and negotiation process Deliver all required owner deliverables and documentation throughout project phases Ensure consistent implementation of quality control programs Hold regular subcontractor and supplier meetings to resolve scheduling and cost issues Create and present comprehensive monthly project status reports to the owner Organize and lead key project meetings, including planning, progress, and closeout sessions Support owner personnel through training, turnover, and commissioning of systems Mentor and develop project management and field staff with a focus on ownership and business acumen Conduct performance evaluations and manage compensation, promotions, and disciplinary actions for direct reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered Minimum 10 years of experience in commercial construction, with emphasis on electrical systems Proven experience managing large-scale hospital projects is required In-depth knowledge of construction industry standards, practices, and processes Proficiency with construction management software systems Strong understanding of safety regulations, scheduling, cost controls, quality assurance, and construction documentation Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
