Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Security Project Manager (PM) to oversee and manage all aspects of security operations for our US Embassy contract in Ecuador. The PM will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of U.S. personnel and assets while maintaining compliance with all contractual obligations and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in police, military, or security force operations, combined with substantial leadership and risk management experience.
Education Requirements:
Completion of secondary education, polytechnical school, National Diploma, or associate degree. Formal training or education in project management. Proven record of reliability and good conduct.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 10 years of experience in police, military, security, or local guard force management. At least 5 years in a supervisory or command-level role. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Ecuador or the broader region. In-depth knowledge of overseas security environments. Familiarity with current terrorist and criminal threats relevant to the U.S. Mission. Experience in operational security assessments and working in high-threat environments. Background in risk management, including threat identification and problem-solving.
Knowledge and Skills:
Host country citizen or third-country national with valid work visa for Ecuador. Fluency in Spanish and English (minimum S4/R4 proficiency level). Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard business software. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead security personnel and local guard forces. Expert knowledge in physical security, access control, and emergency response protocols. Strong communication skills across all levels of management. Capable of working calmly and effectively under pressure. Familiar with radio communications and standard procedures. Experience in team development, quality assurance, and contract compliance. Possession of a valid host-country driver’s license. If required, must complete and maintain firearms training and certification in compliance with local laws and contract requirements.
