  • Assistant Project Manager Position Overview The role of the Assistant Project Manager is to provide support to Project Managers to ensure construction projects are completed on time, on budget and quality work.

The Assistant Electrical Project Manager must be organized, comfortable with communicating with a variety of people, able to multi-task, a proactive problem solver, and must be able to follow specified tasks proficiently while under minimal supervision. This position will juggle reading specs for new jobs, assisting in oversight of all aspects of the projects from pre-construction through closeout as well as project financial performance. Assistant Electrical Project Manager position responsibilities Accountabilities at the beginning stages of projects Review job specifications Verify estimates Setting up job books or folders Issuance of subcontracts Compile submittals Accountabilities at the middle stages of projects Coordinating schedules with subcontractors Contact permitting entities, complete permit requests Set up, track and balance ODP’s Create, submit and track change orders Generate and maintain RFI logs Foster a professional relationship with General Contractor and vendors Submit material requests for quotes compare, negotiate pricing and submit to AP Coordinate material deliveries, track missing materials and request site tools/equipment Liaison to field regarding materials, change orders, subcontractor, and general contractor issues Search for prospective vendors for specialty items and materials Accountabilities at the end stage of projects Follow up on pending change orders and punch list items Assemble O&M manuals and warranty letters Obtain as built drawings, file a digital copy and send a clean copy to the General Contractor Documents close out for the job What we are looking for Construction Management graduate or the equivalent in experience Experience working in construction Ability to think critically and creatively when problem-solving for their projects One who takes initiative, is influential and able to drive results Strong record of employment stability Demonstrates prioritization, organization, time management and problem-solving skills Benefits of working at OEC Competitive compensation Health, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance 401k plan with a company match Paid personal days Paid vacation Paid holidays Career advancement with a growing company
