Job Summary The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for leading/coordinating straight forward and less complex construction projects such as developing new facilities; additions, expansions or extension of an existing facility; or renovating/altering a facility in collaboration with project team, construction site, and management. General Duties Safety Observes and may Assist with weekly safety audits provided by field and assists team with compliance. Adheres to Primus Company Safety Policies both at Project locations and in Corporate Office. Drawing Reviews Participates in review of all contract documents including contract drawings, project summary and owner contract. Participates in review of initial engineering, construction, shop drawings and delivery schedule. Review of construction documents with the Project Manager for items to watch out for, such as cost of details, “buildability,” scope, and coordination. Coordinate between project management, field construction and engineering, including request for information procedures. Expedite review of shop drawings and material deliveries.

Buyout / Procurement

Assists in review of project estimate and cost forecast reports. Follow the established purchasing procedures. Obtains subcontractors and vendors to quote items of work. Prepares request for quotation packages. Review of proposals including bid summary procedures and owner approvals. Drafting purchase orders and subcontracts. Submittals Review of shop drawings and material deliveries. Uploads submittals and shop drawings to applicable software for distribution. Scheduling Observes on site scheduling meetings when applicable. Assists in transfer of Lean Planning from field to Lean Plan Facilitator. Prepare and monitor schedules and logs for engineering, construction, delivery, shop drawing, etc. Follow the established construction procedures and techniques as they relate to the scheduling of subcontractors and material deliveries. Day to Day Duties Coordinates issuance of drawings to the field, vendors, and subcontractors. Attend coordination meetings as necessary. Understand good correspondence procedures. Prepare change orders to vendors, and subcontractors. May participate in preparation of owner billing. Coordinate scope of work, and review of work in place. Expedite review of shop drawings and material deliveries. Assist Project Manager with alignment of the cost system, including coding and review of subcontractor and vendor invoices and updating cost forecast report. Project Closeout Observe the permit procedures for obtaining building permits, occupancy permits, and local building official inspections. Assist in preparation of a punch list and completion of punch list items. Assist in preparation and assembly of final drawings, operations and maintenance manuals and final accounting to owners, subcontractors and vendors. Become involved in warranty problems as required. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in related field. 0+ of experience, Construction preferred. Proficient with Microsoft office products. Experience using Viewpoint software preferred. Must be able to multi-task; prioritize; and work with minimal supervision. Must have strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills Strong interpersonal skills.
