Full Job Description Job Responsibilities & Requirements:
Supervise and manage the progress of all geo-environmental projects to ensure quality and timely deliverables. Lead and manage the execution of Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), including supervising or performing engineering evaluations, report review, and report preparation. Critical review of field and laboratory test data as well as recommendations. Willingness to mentor, develop, and train staff both technically and for leadership roles. Oversee the technical proposal preparation, manage client meetings, and ensure overall client satisfaction. Access and manage risk at all levels, including quality assurance of both technical and non-technical aspects of the environmental group. Oversight and responsibility for geo-environmental aspects, including but not limited to: Assessment of recognized environmental concerns. Investigation of historical and publicly available documents and databases. Field activities, including Phase I ESA site reconnaissance and Phase II investigations. Understanding of sample collection, preparation, preservation sample hold times and laboratory submission regulations and guidelines. Coordination with subcontractors for database materials, drilling services, and laboratory testing work. Understanding of permitting processes and environmental test methods. Understand and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations with regard to hazardous waste and the Clean Waters Act, including but not limited to understanding of permissible/reportable limits. Understanding of contaminant transport through soil and groundwater. Development of recommendations for proposed Phase II ESA investigations. Manage numerous projects and team members concurrently, requiring strong problem-solving and communication skills. Collaborate with clients and internal staff to promote continuous quality monitoring, improvement on projects, and innovative solutions. Monitor quality standards and practices. Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure the team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrating safety practices. Promote pre-task planning for all projects. Supports business development and growth goals by marketing company services through attendance and participation in client meetings, industry events, and college outreach functions. Education Requirement Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting. Qualifications & Work Experience 5+ years of progressively responsible hands-on experience with Phase I and Phase II due diligence projects. Strong knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations related to hazardous waste and Clean Waters Act. Experience managing engineering teams and leading environmental tasks. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite products Strong organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to work in a team environment while managing conflicts and change and maximizing efficiency and performance. Able to work under tight deadlines, managing quality, time, resources, and prioritizations to meet commitments. Desire for improvement by encouraging refinements to existing workflow processes and development of skills and talents. Preferred Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) or ability to obtain within six (6) months Membership in applicable Technical Associations.
