POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing the accounting and reporting on all client projects. The project lifecycle includes contract review, project setup, billing, collections, and analysis. This position will manage the project accountants, review project status with project managers and define processes and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Oversee the project controls for Fortna projects Establishes controls and operating policies that identify, monitor, and mitigate risk factors that could impact the success of a project Responsible for developing a reporting structure and process to share project information with stakeholders Ensures project control reporting documents are produced and that they clearly reflect the schedule and timeline status, cost or budget considerations, changes, supplier performance, and other risk levels Effectively communicating with Project Managers regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications, estimates, project status, etc. Reviewing proposals and contracts for compliance with corporate financial goals Preparing and reviewing contract schedule for revenue recognition Ensuring that projects are set up, managed and reported for management purposes and meet accounting compliance needs Responsible for the project accounting systems Contract review to ensure that terms and conditions meet management objectives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance or Accounting 5+ years of Accounting/Finance experience Experience with project accounting and percentage of completion accounting Experience setting up and managing accounting systems and reporting software Ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general business software Ability to perform essential functions of the job Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management and problem-solving skills Ability to travel primarily domestically with the possibility of international travel; however, this could change based on company’s impending business needs

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Construction or consulting background preferred. Fully Bilingual English/Spanish (written and spoken) Six Sigma or similar process improvement training CPA or CMA certification Experience with consolidation of multi-companies and multi-currencies

WORKING CONDITIONS

When duties are performed in a typical office environment, extended periods of sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen will be required. Also required is the ability to talk and hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands to handle, feel, or operate standard office equipment; and ability to reach with hands and arms. Associates are frequently required to walk and stand. The noise level in this work environment is usually quiet. When travelling to Client sites, essential requirements of this position may require physical presence in various environments and locations. Physical stamina may be required for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and/or working in cramped quarters. Exposure to potentially dangerous tools and equipment amidst a variety of building materials is probable, as is occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment can vary from being relatively quiet, to moderate, to excessive. Safety shoes or boots may be required in certain situations.
