Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Traveling Project Manager to lead and manage electrical construction projects throughout the Greensboro/Winston-Salem, NC region , with travel up to 4 hours from the main office/project hub. This position is ideal for a results-driven professional with deep experience in managing commercial or industrial electrical projects from planning through closeout. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity , with a 90-day performance evaluation to determine long-term employment fit.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage all phases of electrical construction projects including planning, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout. Coordinate with clients, engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project success. Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets, tracking progress and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, building codes, and company policies. Prepare and maintain project documentation such as RFIs, change orders, submittals, progress reports, and closeout packages. Conduct project meetings with field leadership and stakeholders, providing regular updates on status, risks, and changes. Support jobsite personnel and resolve issues as they arise to maintain workflow and timelines. Oversee procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost control. Perform jobsite visits and quality checks to ensure proper installation and execution.
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in electrical construction project management, preferably in commercial or industrial sectors. Strong understanding of electrical systems , codes, permitting processes, and best practices. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and safety standards. Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid). Ability and willingness to travel up to 4 hours from main site as needed. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Must pass a drug test and background screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). OSHA 30 Certification. Electrical license (Journeyman or Master) is a plus. PMP Certification is a bonus but not required.
