Project Director is a resourceful leader who possesses a passion for providing academic enrichment opportunities for children, living in economically impoverished neighborhoods and attending low-performing schools, and for mobilizing people to collaborate in creating and maintaining an infrastructure of academic support providing after school programs for the youth and other educational vehicles for their families. The

About NFOAAY:
NFOAAY is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization focused on positively changing the outcome of youth. NFOAAY is striving to make positive change in the outcome of children living in poverty. NFOAAY is focused on motivating and helping neighborhood residents to organize and establish an infrastructure of support providing long-term, accessible, academic support for the youth of its neighborhood. NFOAAY is focused on helping residents to establish Community Study Halls to improve the health, skills, abilities, and character of youth such that they can perform at grade level in school, be drug-free, graduate from high school, pursue desired post-high school options, and have an opportunity for a good future. NFOAAY focuses on enhancing the literacy of both the family and students.
The program components include:
1)Community Study Hall, 2) Parent Sharing Sessions, and 3) Family Math Workshops. Community Study Hall includes Homework Assistance, Reading Remediation, Math Remediation, Life Skills Workshops, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics(“STEM”) Workshops, Character Education, & Technology Instruction. Responsibilities This person is primarily responsible for supporting Community Study Hall Program Directors(“CSH PD”) in geographically dispersed locations. However, in cities without a CSH PD, the

“) supports Community Study Hall Program Manager(“CSH PM”) in geographically dispersed locations. The

writes grants to help secure funding for Community Study Hall programs. The

mentors and coaches the CSH PD so the CSH PD and PM understands all the practices, operating principles, and policies related to the HFM Model. The

also conducts and develops training workshops and documentation targeted at CSH PD and CSH PM in different cities. In geographic areas, such as Columbus, that do not yet have a CSH PD, the

serves as the CSH PD for that area and works with a prospective neighborhood to help them start a neighborhood after school program and identify a prospective PM to provide ongoing operations support and leadership. When serving as a CSH PD, this person’s responsibilities include 1)staff recruitment and management resulting in achieving coverage for all groups, 2)securing resources needed to support all program components, 3)serving as program liaison to all stakeholders to ensure coordination and acquisition of support and timely communications such that all parties are informed, 4)advocacy throughout the city which promotes a level of increased partnering and collaboration that will provide in-kind contributions and donations, providing supplemental program resources, and ultimately will enable sustainability of the program. This person is responsible for managing to budget, assessing staffing needs, staff/volunteer tracking, overall project progression, resolving problems, interfacing with evaluators, overall project planning, & and interfacing with the data specialist. This person is responsible for successful program operations. This person is responsible for achievement of program goals. These first-tier responsibilities are the same as the responsibilities for a CSH Program Manager. When a city does not yet have a

must also carry out the second-tier responsibilities of a CSH PD which include ensuring that the program is compliant with funding agencies, such as the Georgia Department of Education, requirements in 5 areas: 1)Program Implementation, 2)Evaluation, 3)Health & Safety, 4)Collaboration & Sustainability, & 5)Fiduciary Requirements. This includes developing and modifying policies and operating procedures to sustain compliance. This person is responsible for ensuring continuous improvement in program operations and ensuring alignment with state academic standards. This person is responsible for developing advocacy tools that help establish the credibility of the program and promote long-term partnering. This person is responsible for defining and implementing sustainability strategies that result in sustained funding. This person is responsible for transitioning staff training needs into meaningful technical workshops which will enhance staff competencies and effectiveness. This person is also responsible for all grant administration. More specifically, responsibilities include: TIER I Program management Staff(volunteer & paid) recruitment & management Program operations Budget management Data Collection Program compliance Program communications Partnerships with other non-profits, businesses, civic groups, & government agencies Budget management Resource solicitation TIER II Grant administration Grant compliance
Program Sustainability Staff Development Fund Development Program Evaluation Qualifications:
Individual should have a Certificate, Bachelor, or Master’s degree in one or more of the following areas: Social Work, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Middle/High School Education, Organizational & Human Development, and/or any related field. Experience in the starting and operating an after school program is required.
Individual should have a minimum of five years providing direct youth services(i.e. classroom/after school/summer instructions). Individual must be able to pass a FBI Background Check. Individual must be able to work effectively with a variety of differing personalities.
