CDI Engineering Solutions, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE), is a multi-disciplinary engineering organization offering a full range of integrated engineering design, project support, procurement and construction management services to the energy and chemicals industries.
Position Summary
Normally requires a minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in cost control. Performs assignments under general supervision. With additional experience within one specialty, is expected to assist in the preparation of larger and more complex assignments. Provides technical support for the Projects Controls function of cost management, progress and performance analysis and reporting, as required to meet project scope and job requirements.
Responsibilities
Under administrative guidance, plans and executes the Project Controls requirements for projects.
Gathers accurate data to use in cost management and scheduling systems.
Maintain orderly records to ensure integrity of the project control system.
Maintains orderly cost and schedule records to provide audit data, project history and records for ensuring the integrity of the project cost and schedule systems and historical data.
Maintains an accurate current budget and/or CPM schedule by properly utilizing accurate and complete deviation data.
Maintains and coordinated project change management program for cost.
Assist in generating, checking, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy.
Understands cost/accounting basic terminology, principles, practices and concepts and contract commercial provisions and interpretations.
Qualifications
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions routinely and accurately.
Must possess strong computer skills in the area of spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software. Ability to use the cost tracking software.
Produce clear and organized output, with conformance to standards.
Independently undertake actions, make recommendations, or provide notification when potential problems and opportunities are discovered or additional assignments are required.
Requires a high level of interpersonal communication between PM, Engineers, and Designers.
Microsoft Excel/Microsoft Office Applications experience.
General knowledge of industry standard project controls best practices.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to analyze and understand all project controls cost reporting documents.
Education Requirements
Two to five years experience in engineering Cost or related field.
