Notice:
LWCC is hiring either a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Overview Under limited supervision, oversees the conception, implementation, and analysis of internal projects. Works closely with ITS personnel and business users in the development and implementation of both information technology initiatives and corporate (non-IT) initiatives that support the strategic objectives of the Corporation. Facilitates the process of analyzing the business needs, developing detailed requirements, solution development, and validation. Acts as liaison between the business departments, ITS personnel, external vendors, stakeholders, executives, and any other participating parties on a project. Additional duties of this position include working closely with Business Unit Managers and staff to interpret their automation needs and document Project Plans which define project objectives, scope, organization, deliverables and timelines, coordinating project tasks and issues, supporting the development of testing and implementation plans, and coordinating the project communication process which includes issue escalation and weekly project status reports. This classification is distinguished from the Project Manager job classification by the years of experience – both internal and external – as well as increased scope, variety and complexity of work assignments, application analysis and leadership responsibilities. This position also has the responsibility for mentoring Junior Project Managers and Business Analysts and supporting them in project management activities as well as supporting users acting in the capacity of Project Managers on non-PMO led projects. Major Areas of Accountability Manages all parts of assigned projects per protocols of project management methodology including acting as liaison to business units, ITS Department, and outside vendors.
Facilitates corporate wide adoption of project management methodology to expand LWCC’s Project Management skillset to all areas of the company by educating and supporting those non-PMO employees chosen to be in those roles.
Evaluates business objectives that require new systems or enhancements to existing systems.
Provides recommendations to management on optimized business flows and software solutions.
In conjunction with IT Managers, develops information systems strategies with business users, defines business objectives, and identifies cost/benefit impact to the company for proposed projects.
Develops and utilizes a structured process for the definition, design, development, testing and deployment of all corporate systems.
Develops and maintains centralized project Intranet site which houses all project artifacts.
Defines work processes and plans and/or actions to be performed after discussing with user management.
Collaborates with software developers on the architectural elements to meet user requirements.
Responsible for developing project schedules and monitoring completion of project tasks.
Responsible for conducting project update meetings, and documenting project status and issues to PMO Manager, CIO, and Executive Business Sponsor(s) and keeps all stake holders informed of adherence to project objectives.
Manages changes of considerable consequence to the scope and schedule of the project.
Creates, tracks and forecasts changes in project budgets.
Defines issues and drives business decisions for project related topics.
Develops and maintains quality assurance process to ensure adherence to procedures and an acceptable level of quality work for the PMO Department.
Oversees the development of training requirements for the delivery of all system projects to include “train the trainer” requirements and the necessary training materials.
Reviews and studies instructional and informational material to enhance/increase knowledgebase of systems and procedures within the work unit.
Maintains and works to improve customer experience. Mentors Junior Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Business Users acting in a project management role in ITS procedures and business processes and procedures.
Provides analytical support to Business Analysts and other ITS personnel to troubleshoot specific problem areas and identify possible solutions to issues that arise out of projects. Acts as System Administrator for Project Online (PWA).
Continues professional development through attendance at training sessions and professional seminars to incorporate recent technical developments into work unit operations.

Education and Experience
A Baccalaureate degree or
CPCU. PMP
Certification.
Extensive experience in project management preferred. Experience with formal project management processes and business process redesign initiatives with intimate knowledge of customer service. Technical project experience preferred (i.e. hardware replacement, operating system upgrades, etc.). Familiarity with legal terms.
In addition to a strong insurance background, the position requires extensive knowledge of corporate systems and extensive knowledge of business processes and change management practices.
