Job Description
Role Summary:
Leads and manages IT efforts for implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system serving state agencies, higher education, the Legislature, and the Governor’s Office. Oversees IT project planning, execution, communication, risk management, and post-implementation transition. May specialize in areas such as reporting, testing, data, or readiness depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and guide cross-functional project teams. Collaborate on IT plans, resources, risks, and schedules. Ensure effective communication with stakeholders and executive leadership. Apply agile methodologies; serve as agile coach. Develop and manage project documentation, scope, timelines, and quality standards. Implement project management best practices and tools. Manage vendor performance and contract deliverables. Ensure successful system transition and operational handoff.
Expected Outcomes:
A reliable ERP system supporting statewide business functions. On-time, high-quality deliverables. Strong stakeholder alignment and communication. A well-coordinated, agile-driven project team.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Project management training (e.g., UW PM certification). 5+ years managing medium-to-large complex IT projects. Experience with agile development, vendor management, IT planning, and stakeholder communication. Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, SmartSheet, Visio.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a related field. Agile/SCRUM certifications. ERP implementation experience. Knowledge in business analytics, enterprise data conversion, architecture frameworks, and security standards (NIST, HIPAA, PII, etc.).
