Driving Full Job Description Position Description:
The Project Manager assists the Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance in the capital improvement programs for school and facilities and assists in supervising of the assessment, evaluation, design, and construction of improvement projects. The Project Manager assists in collecting and maintaining data to ensure district, state, and federal compliance. The position will required extend or on call work hours due to emergencies or extenuating circumstances related to safety or operational routine.
Reports To:
Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance Scope of Responsibility:
? Plans and supervises all phases of the capital improvement process. ? Prepares budget estimates for capital improvements at each facility. ? Consults with design professional to refine each scope of work to ensure that the best interests of the system are protected. ? Prepares a timeline, with input from the architect/engineer, from the day the School Board names an architect/engineer until the day the project is completed, and enforces adherence to the timeline by all professionals, bidders and other parties involved. Reports to the principal whose school is affected of any deviation from the original timeline. ? Ensures that work performed by the general contractors is in accordance with contract guidelines. ? Evaluates and recommends to the Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance all requests for change. ? Reviews for accuracy general contractor, consultants, testing labs and design professionals pay applications. ? Prepares statistical reports and budget reports as required. ? Maintains security of electronic and print records with regard to confidentiality of passwords that are issued for computer access. ? Responsible to carry and answer system issued phone before, during and after normal work hours due to emergencies or extenuating circumstances related to safety or operational routine. ? Performs all other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Facilities and Maintenance.
Skills and Qualifications:

Successful candidates will also demonstrate and/or possess: ? High School Diploma or GED. ? Five (5) years experience in construction and renovations in a public school environment or a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. ? Experience in multi-task environment. ? Ability to read blue prints and communicate effectively through drawings. ? Working knowledge of Construction practices. ? Working knowledge of City, Parish, and State Building Codes and Public Bid Law. ? Maintain a valid Louisiana driver’s license. Have knowledge of driving laws, interpreting traffic signals, signs. Operate manual transmissions.
Desirable Qualifications:
? Five (5) years of Architectural Design experience. ? Experience in Auto Cad.
Physical Involvement:
Sitting is required to drive a vehicle from the maintenance facility to school and administrative facilities on both the east and west banks of the river and Grand Isle. Sitting can vary in duration from 5 minutes to 2 hours. Climbing step ladder, extension ladder, stairs and scaffolding are routinely required. Must be able to operate office equipment. Standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting up to 30 pounds is sometimes required. Ability to provide own transportation to schools, work locations, and meeting sites. Mobility skills necessary to access a variety of work locations.
