Description We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager to lead a major corporate office relocation for our organization in New Orleans, Louisiana. This contract position requires an individual with expertise in facilities management, workplace strategy, and vendor coordination to ensure a smooth transition. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex projects, maintain timelines, and oversee budgets effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and oversee all aspects of a large-scale office relocation project, including scheduling, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
- Serve as the central point of contact for internal teams such as IT, HR, and real estate, as well as external contractors, designers, and vendors.
- Coordinate all move-related logistics, such as inventory management, staff communication, and records relocation, to minimize operational disruptions.
- Ensure the readiness of the new office space, including furniture setup, IT infrastructure installation, and compliance with safety standards.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and provide financial reports to key stakeholders.
- Manage a detailed project timeline, ensuring all milestones are met within the agreed timeframe.
- Oversee vendor selection and performance, ensuring quality service and cost efficiency.
- Address any challenges or unexpected issues that arise during the relocation process with proactive problem-solving. Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in facilities project management, with a minimum of 2 years focused on relocation projects.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of building systems, space planning, and project management tools.
- Experience working with design teams, contractors, and municipal permitting processes.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Availability to work evenings or weekends during critical phases of the relocation.
- Certification in project management (e.
g., PMP) or facilities management is a plus.
