Oil States is currently looking for qualified candidates for the position of Project Manager in Houma, Louisiana.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of activities to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and within the projected cost and time schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes role as the primary contact between the customer or other third parties and project sponsor. Review project, product or service specifications, reports project status and completion schedule, and acts as a direct liaison concerning issues on the project. Directly coordinate between management, sales, purchasing, engineering, planning, and production operations. Establish planning schedule, assign resources for each phase of the project and monitor progress. Prepare and supervise document submittals in accordance with contractual requirements. Troubleshoot problems encountered with the project, define and either directly or indirectly implement solutions.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Offer support to other departments, which may include training personnel. Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
College degree in related field or experience may serve in lieu of degree. Minimum of five years prior production or business experience in a similar industry with emphasis on steel, procurement, and international logistics. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels within and outside the organization. Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with suppliers worldwide. Availability after hours and on weekend to meet project schedules. Good mathematical and measurement skills. Good working knowledge of computer and software. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Ability to follow and relay detailed and complex instructions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged sitting. Walking, standing, sitting and occasionally lifting of up to 45 pounds. Willingness and ability to travel worldwide with little or no advanced notice.
