Job Summary

EdEthics is led by Meira Levinson, Juliana W. and William Foss Thompson Professor of Education and Society at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. EdEthics supports educators and policymakers to ask important questions about the ethical dimensions of their work, develops new language to talk about educational ethics, and provides frameworks for developing a philosophically rigorous, pragmatically useful theory of educational justice. EdEthics works with K-12 practitioners and school districts, higher education, policymakers, and scholars in a range of initiatives and networks. EdEthics also develops and publishes normative case studies, academic research, digital resources, and other resources in various mediums.

Current projects include:

digital pathway development, intellectual humility research, professional learning to help educators build ethical reasoning and hold challenging conversations across lines of difference, and work in education on current controversies and grappling with the legacy of slavery. Position Description
EdEthics is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager for organizational management of a project under the Harvard & Legacy of Slavery initiative that encompasses professional learning, resource development, research, and other connected activities for educators seeking to address and teach hard histories and current controversies, and hold complex conversations across lines of difference. Project management will include, but is not limited to, coordinating and delegating with the EdEthics leadership and team members; determining project goals, priorities, and future steps with EdEthics leadership; anticipating and problem-solving for challenges; organizing and managing workflow, deadlines, meetings, communications, and related tasks; supporting with budget, finance, contracts, and other administrative duties; collaborating on strategic planning and resource allocation; communicating with external partners; drafting and presenting reports; coordinating the development and posting of digital resources; navigating independent and collective decision-making; and engaging in both synchronous and asynchronous work. The Senior Project Manager will work with the EdEthics team and partner organizations, such as the Democratic Knowledge Project and other Harvard University partners, as well as external organizations, and should be comfortable working both independently and in a collaborative environment. The Senior Project Manager will report primarily to Liz Block, Director of Strategy, Partnerships & Outreach at EdEthics, report periodically to Professor Meira Levinson, and participate in meetings and planning sessions with a broader team. This is a half-time (.50 FTE) term position with an end date of June 30, 2026. This position requires an on campus presence.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum 5 years project management with preferred experience in higher education;
capacity to use various digital writing, productivity, and organizational platforms; either academic background or interest in learning about issues of justice, values, and ethics in education;
excellent organizational skills; Previous experience leading collaborative team;
Additional Qualifications and Skills
Master’s degree preferred
Experience in the field of education.
experience managing complex, fast-paced projects;
understanding of US education practices and policies, Outstanding written and oral communication skills; Proven effective management experience; Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines;
Capacity for both self-directed work and team collaboration. Working Conditions

Work Format Details
This is a hybrid position that is based in Massachusetts. Additional details will be discussed during the interview process. All remote work must be performed within one of the Harvard Registered Payroll States, which currently includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington, and California (CA for exempt positions only). Certain visa types and funding sources may limit work location. Individuals must meet work location sponsorship requirements prior to employment.

Paid Time Off:
