Director, Project Management Position Available In Cumberland, Maine
Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Project Management to lead our project management office (PMO). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, product development, and building PMO functions from the ground up. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent leadership skills and a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Strategy:
Develop and implement the overall strategy for the PMO. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of project managers and coordinators. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
Program Management:
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple programs and projects. Ensure alignment of projects with organizational goals and objectives. Manage project risks, issues, and changes to ensure successful project delivery.
Product Development:
Collaborate with product development teams to ensure projects meet product specifications and quality standards. Drive innovation and improvements in product development processes. Ensure timely delivery of new products to market.
PMO Development:
Establish and maintain PMO standards, processes, and best practices. Implement project management tools and methodologies. Monitor and report on the performance of the PMO and its projects.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and vendors. Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. Facilitate stakeholder engagement and buy-in for projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Proven experience in program management and product development. Demonstrated success in building and leading a PMO.
