Job Type Full-Time Job Number 9069-0941-20250213hi Department 0941•TRANSPORTATION Opening Date 02/13/2025 Closing Date 2/24/2025 11:59 PM Central Agency Minimum Salary $56,345.82 Agency Maximum Salary $65,075.39 About the Agency The Mississippi Department of Transportation is responsible for providing a safe intermodal transportation network that is planned, designed, constructed, and maintained in an effective, cost efficient, and environmentally sensitive manner. About the Position Second-level Project Management coordinator accountable for developing, administering, and monitoring parts or components of agency projects. Employees are responsible for assisting in project planning, monitoring the operation of program activities, and supervising project goals and objectives. Responsibilities may include assisting in scheduling, reporting, controlling, and evaluating functions associated with projects; monitoring and reporting project spending; and coordinating the activities of the project team. At this level, employees analyze administrative problems and recommend needed regulations, policies, and procedures for the proper administration of projects. Responsibilities may include preparing and administering proposals, contracts, grants, and agreements related to specific programs or projects of the agency. Employees maintain liaison with agency divisions, outside organizations, and the general public. The candidate would have the following responsibilities: 1. Oversee the operations and maintenance for each of MDOT’s fuel facilities. 2. Conduct and supervise monthly inspections for each of MDOT’s fuel facilities to ensure the fuel facilities are in compliance with state and federal regulations. 3. Monitor fuel levels and coordinate with fuel vendors to ensure MDOT has an adequate fuel supply during hurricane season and other natural disasters. 4. Assist in the assessment of potentially contaminated properties What you’ll need to be Successful The candidate must be willing to spend a significant amount of time traveling throughout the state of Mississippi, should possess strong communication skills (oral and written), and be comfortable working in an environment where they may be in regular contact with fuel and other petroleum products. Preferred Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience.

Agency preferred qualifications:

The candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree and possess knowledge of federal and state Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations.
