About Us:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join the Transmission – Interconnections team supporting the Carolinas West region. The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical engineering and experience in project and/or construction management within transmission or utility infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of approximately 10 active projects, coordinating across multiple disciplines including engineering, construction, and customer engagement. Key Responsibilities Provide end-to-end project management for low to moderate risk transmission interconnection projects. Lead planning and execution phases across scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality control. Serve as the primary point of accountability, or operate under the general guidance of a Project Director. Coordinate and guide internal and external project stakeholders across disciplines (Engineering, Project Controls, Construction, Supply Chain, Legal, EHS, QA/QC, Communications, etc.). Organize and lead project meetings (kickoffs, status updates, reporting), and ensure alignment across all parties. Develop and maintain all required project documentation including: Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), risk plans, procurement strategies, stakeholder communications, change management, and project close-out reports. Ensure compliance with internal PMCoE standards and business unit procedures. Basic/Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred (Electrical Engineering strongly desired). Will consider Associate degree with 10-15+ years of relevant experience. Prior experience in utility, commercial, or industrial construction. Familiarity with construction standards and practices. Experience using project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, EcoSys). Desired/Preferred Qualifications Electrical engineering background with direct project management experience. Previous work in utility or transmission infrastructure projects. Proficiency in project controls including scheduling, cost tracking, and reporting. Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage cross-functional teams. PMP or equivalent certification is a plus. Work Environment & Logistics Hybrid work model: Onsite 3 days per week (site visits count as in-office days). Occasional travel (1-3 site visits/month, within 100-200 miles). Must have a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed). Important Notes This role is focused on project management, not field supervision. Candidates with primarily field-based construction oversight backgrounds may not be a good fit.
