Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Project Director is responsible for overseeing the project manager’s planning, execution, and delivery of the project. The Project Director provides leadership, direction, and coaching to project management, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, client expectations, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Leadership and Management:
Provide leadership and oversight to project management teams. Set project objectives, goals, and priorities. Ensure that project teams have the resources, support, and direction needed to achieve project success. Monitor project performance, track key metrics, and address elevated issues and challenges that arise during project execution.
Client Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and proactive engagement. Anticipate client needs, address concerns, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner. Ensure client satisfaction and retention through exceptional service delivery.
Financial Management and Budget Oversight:
Oversee project budgets, financial forecasts, and cost control measures. Monitor project expenses, track costs, and ensure adherence to budget constraints. Review project financial reports, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed to maintain project profitability.
Risk Management and Compliance:
Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project success. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate risks and minimize their impact on project objectives.
Team Development and Mentoring:
Mentor and coach project team members, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the project team. Encourage teamwork, creativity, and accountability.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 3 years in a senior or director-level role. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex projects from initiation to completion. Strong understanding of project management methodologies. Proficiency in project management software. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Strong client relationship management skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Experience in mentoring and developing project teams to enhance performance and collaboration.
