RAM Pavement is a leading provider of pavement solutions in the Charlotte, NC area. We specialize in fine grading, ABC stone installation, compaction, wet setting, and asphalt paving. As we expand into the stone base process in site development, we seek a highly experienced professional to lead this division.
Position Overview:
The Site Division Project Manager will oversee all aspects of our stone base operations, including fine grading, ABC stone installation, soil stabilization, and asphalt paving. We are looking for a hands-on leader with a strong background in field operations —someone who has done this work, understands the process inside and out, and can lead crews effectively. This role requires extensive experience in stone base preparation, grading, and soil stabilization.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Lead and manage multiple stone base projects from start to finish, ensuring quality execution, on-time completion, and budget adherence.
Field Expertise:
Provide hands-on guidance and technical support to crews performing fine grading, ABC stone installation, compaction, wet setting, and asphalt paving.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor field personnel, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship.
Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing project updates and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Soil Stabilization:
Oversee and implement soil stabilization techniques to enhance project durability and longevity.
Budget & Scheduling:
Develop and manage project budgets, coordinate material deliveries, and maintain detailed schedules to keep projects on track.
Quality Control:
Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets specifications, NCDOT standards, and company quality expectations.
Safety Compliance:
Promote and enforce all workplace safety regulations and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Extensive hands-on experience in stone base preparation, fine grading, and soil stabilization is a must.
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience in site development, grading, or stone base installation, preferably in North Carolina.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage teams and subcontractors.
- Working knowledge of NCDOT specifications and industry best practices.
- NCDOT Certification is preferred, or the willingness to obtain it upon hiring.
- Proficiency in grading plans, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Experience with heavy equipment used for grading, compaction, and stone installation.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working on NCDOT or other large-scale grading and paving projects.
- Ability to implement value-engineering solutions to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Previous experience managing subcontractors and materials procurement.
