FUNCTION

The efficient management of assigned projects. Position has direct responsibility for contract administration, change orders, claims and completion of assigned projects on time within specifications and budget. Position reports to the Division Manager and Senior Project Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Assist Vice Presidents and Division Managers in estimating, contract development and administration. Assist Division Manager and Superintendent in progress schedules and scheduling support crews and subcontractors. Meet with engineers, architects and clients to coordinate and price required design changes and to negotiate change orders as necessary. Review and evaluate plans and specifications, cost, schedules, job assignments, equipment utilization and needs, personnel needs, and selection and performance of subcontractors. Review and execute plan revisions, work orders and claims as needed. Review accounts receivable and accounts payable to insure proper billing of estimates, cost and payment of completed work. See that new personnel receive proper orientation to acquaint them with company policies, safety requirements, and job responsibilities. Advise managers as to how improvements could be made in such areas as crew sizes, performance methods, techniques, quality work, value engineering, etc. Insure completion of all work assigned to the division with emphasis on safety, quality, cost and time. Monitor and insist upon compliance of all company policies and procedures, as well as all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA, American with Disabilities (ADA), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) requirements. Assist and direct personnel in the proper use and maintenance of equipment, improving job performance, controlling cost, increasing productivity, improving communications, and adhering to company policies. Maintain good working relationships with general public, engineers, architects, inspectors, property owners, and customers to facilitate job progress and to promote a positive company image. Develop a courteous and considerate attitude towards these groups. Perform additional duties as required or as directed by the Vice President or Division Manager. Daily review of timecard submittals to verify labor and equipment are charged correctly and quantities are entered. Attend all scheduled meetings in person or online for each assigned project. Must have regular and predictable attendance.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Construction Management or Civil Engineering Degree Work Experience:

NCDOT, heavy highway, and commercial projects Minimum 5 years in storm drain, water, force main and gravity sewer

Other Requirements:

Must be a minimum of 21 years old Must be authorized to work in the US Experience with Agtek, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Bluebeam, P6, and Microsoft Project.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Light physical effort required including pulling and lifting or moving light weight material with occasional lifting or moving materials or equipment (over 5 and up to 25 pounds).

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Position is normally very good working conditions such as an office environment, but may require infrequent work around any or all of the following: noise, dust, heat, cold, oil and heavy equipment. Personal protective equipment may be required. Position requires ability to exchange ideas quickly and clearly and the ability to receive and evaluate detailed information and instructions. Possible night work and weekend work may be required based on project schedule and phasing, or in the absence of superintendent.
