Survey Project Manager Job Description The Survey Project Manager leads field and office operations for construction layout projects, overseeing the process from initial control networks through final as-built verification. This role is crucial in bridging design intent and on-site execution, ensuring precision in horizontal and vertical control, staking, and as-built documentation. The Survey Project Manager ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Responsibilities Oversee and manage all aspects of survey projects, including planning, design, execution, data analysis, and delivery. Ensure horizontal and vertical control, staking, and as-built documentation are delivered with absolute accuracy. Direct supervision of crews, budgets, and schedules to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Manage multiple, concurrent construction layout projects with survey fees exceeding $50k. Essential Skills 5+ years progressive land surveying experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to construction layout for civil, commercial, or heavy civil projects. NC PLS certification. CST Level III or equivalent for candidates on licensure track. Proficiency in Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, and Autodesk Civil 3D. NCDOT Construction Layout Experience (Field & Office). Demonstrated mastery of robotic total stations, GNSS/VRS, digital levels, and laser scanning/LiDAR. OSHA Construction 30 Certification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Geomatics or land surveying degree. Completion of SIT and FS Exam. Experience in AutoCAD and Carlson software. Work Environment The work environment includes working from home four days each week, with additional duties conducted from the office or meeting clients in the field.
