Survey Project Manager Job Description As a Survey Project Manager, you will lead field and office operations for construction layout projects, bridging the gap between design intent and on-site execution. You will ensure that horizontal and vertical controls, staking, and as-built documentation are delivered with absolute accuracy. This role involves overseeing all aspects of survey projects, from initial planning and design through execution, data analysis, and project delivery, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standards. Responsibilities Lead field and office operations for construction layout projects. Supervise crews, manage budgets, and schedules to ensure timely project completion. Ensure delivery of accurate horizontal and vertical controls, staking, and as-built documentation. Oversee and manage all aspects of survey projects from planning to execution and delivery. Analyze data and ensure projects adhere to required standards. Essential Skills 5+ years of progressive land surveying experience, including at least 5 years in construction layout for civil, commercial, or heavy civil projects. NC PLS certification. CST Level III or equivalent for candidates on licensure track. NCDOT Construction Layout Experience in both field and office settings. Proficiency in robotic total stations, GNSS/VRS, digital levels, and laser scanning/LiDAR. Expertise in Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, and Autodesk Civil 3D. OSHA Construction 30 Certification. Proven ability to manage multiple, concurrent construction layout projects with budgets exceeding $50k. Additional Skills & Qualifications Degree in Geomatics or Land Surveying. Experience with boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and land development. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Carlson software. Work Environment Work from home four days a week, with occasional meetings in the field or office. Emphasis is placed on flexibility, allowing for a dynamic and engaging work atmosphere.
